Summit Article letter re: Baboon Hang
Royal Robbins letter responding to Bob Swift's submission to Summit Magazine.
Chuck Pratt demonstrates the Baboon Hang, a technique that could save your life after a fall when tied in to a Swami or directly to the rope. The climber turns upside down and puts a sling over his or her legs and then rights themself eliminating the pressure on their lungs. A climber had about 10 minutes to do this before passing out and suffocating.
