I recently received the following email regarding the missing register. I recall a thread about it on Supertopo and don't think it has been located. Does anyone have information on the whereabouts of this register? It would be cool to find it as it has many well known names in it.
Thanks,
Ken
My husband and I met, married and lived in Yosemite from 1969 - 1973. My husband and I were both employees working at the lodge. My husband and several of his buddies used to climb. One of the climbs he did was the Lost Arrow. I think he made that climb either in 1970, 1971 or 1972, I am not sure. I think it would have been in July, but it could have been either June or August. Exact dates have slipped my mind.
What I am trying to find out, is whether someone has kept the climbing logs from the Lost Arrow. At the time, my husband and his buddy, Joe Smith, said there was a canister embedded in the top of the arrow with a pen or pencil, and paper that were contained in a canister. It would mean so much to me, and to my husband if there someone has those records, and I could get a photo copy of his signature for him. Throughout the years I have asked at the mountaineering school, other climbers I have met, and anyone who will listen to me (smiles), if anyone had any knowledge or had any information about that canister, but so far I have not found anyone who is even familiar with that log.
If you have any information, I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks!
