The Yosemite Climbing Association in collaboration with Red River Gorge Climbing Coalition hosted a Facelift Act Local cleanup on October 9th in Red River Gorge, Kentucky!

As an extension of the successful Yosemite Facelift event, the objective of Facelift Act Local is for you to pick up litter, engage in service projects on our public lands, and spread the work of stewardship to some of the most visited and beautiful recreation areas in the country. The hope is not only to help clean up Red River Gorge in a single day but to inspire action to maintain a pristine landscape here and everywhere you go!

The presenting partner for the Red River Gorge Facelift is the Red River Gorge Climbing Coalition. This organization and its volunteers took it upon themselves to protect one of the nation’s best climbing destinations by purchasing and maintaining land. They urge climbers and recreate-ors alike to become educated about access issues, encourage them to take ownership and responsibility for their behavior and its impact on access. The RRGCC’s stated mission is:

“We are dedicated to securing and protecting open, public access to rock climbing in the Red River Gorge area of Kentucky and promoting conservation of the environment on the lands where we climb.”

Help spread the word about Yosemite Facelift by tagging #FaceliftActLocal or #YosemiteFacelift2022 when sharing your experience online. This event is powered by volunteers like you! We can’t wait to get our hands dirty with you again!
